A door-to-door outreach effort to build awareness of no-cost home energy improvements offered by Community Housing Partners (CHP) Energy Solutions will be underway, in Dumfries, Virginia, at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 20, 2022.

Representatives and volunteers will be distributing flyers and door hangers, as well as be on hand to screen residents for free services. Income-qualifying homeowners and renters across Northern Virginia are eligible for services to help lower utility bills and improve energy efficiency. Programs are funded through federal, state, and utility partners. Improvements include adding insulation, repair or replacement of HVAC systems, and health and safety measures. The door-to-door campaign is a joint effort by CHP Energy Solutions, the Town of Dumfries, the Northern Virginia Regional Commission, and Action in Community Through Service PWC (ACTS).

CHP Energy Solutions Weatherization and Utility Programs help low-income individuals and families reduce energy costs by improving the energy efficiency and health of their homes using the federal Weatherization Assistance Program and other funding sources. Specific improvements vary and are based on a home energy audit. To learn more and determine eligibility, visit www.chpenergysolutions.org.
